The Marketing Manager Data Scientist role will be a key component of MSA's Software as a Service strategy as the incumbent will work closely with the SaaS Business lead and technical director to ensure that we are generating the most amount of customer driven insight from our connected product ecosystem data sets. This role will drive the message of how our services will leverage system and product data to deliver added value to our customers. Under this role, the incumbent will interface closely with the SaaS sales team to deliver impactful presentations and / or customized reports to our customers.
Drive the implementation of data analytics services across MSA's new SaaS Business
Develop and deliver impactful presentations to customers that deliver on the promise of insightful data of their safety programs & services
Train sales team on the insights developed from the organization's services
Work closely with the R&D and DevOps team to derive value from the various data sets regarding maintenance intervals, predictive analytics or any other customer driven insight that can be included in an MSA service
Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes
Develop and implement SaaS' data analytics strategy
Act as the strategic mind and develop the organization's data analytics strategy 6-12-18 month action plans with key focus on growth
Lead a cross-functional MSA steering team for analytics that can be act as the primary group for developing MSA's data strategy
Provide data driven recommendations for growth opportunities within the organization
Provide data driven recommendations to both internal and external customers regarding their data sets
Collaborate with internal resources to customize data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
Incorporate mega / macro trends and apply them to MSA's SaaS business to determine opportunities for growth
Manage and report key performance indicators and metrics
Hit the KPIs on the "as a service" P&L for MSA
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities Required:
High performance team orientation and customer focus
Strong background in advanced statistical modeling methods
Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc) and their real-world advantages / drawbacks
Demonstrated ability to effectively develop internal processes to address changes to external/customer requirements.
Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through communication style and engagement. In particular to delivering impactful presentations to both a technical and non-technical audience
Demonstrated ability to apply strong business acumen and judgement
Proven ability to take a leadership role for implementing change as well as the ability to influence others within the organization for which there is no direct authority.
Demonstrated history of learning and mastering new approaches and techniques
Travel requirements: up to 20% of the time (domestic/international)
BS Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business or related field
Advanced degree (MBA, Masters) or related specialty
7 years of progressively increasing responsibilities (marketing, sales or product development function) within a data driven organization
1 year owning / driving a strategy for data-driven organizations or comparable exposure
9 years of progressively increasing responsibilities (marketing, sales or product development function) within a data driven organization
2 years owning / driving a strategy for data-driven organizations or comparable exposure
Level II/III: MBA or related graduate degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience
Prior experience in managing data science vendors and team
