The University of Arizona’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an experienced sports marketing professional for the position of Digital Marketing Coordinator. This position will be responsible for results-based marketing of Arizona Athletics, including products or services, using digital assets such as the official athletics website, social media channels, earned online coverage and online brochures to find and reach consumers. They will assist with the overall digital strategy, including customer experience, outbound marketing, and inbound marketing/customer acquisition/lead generation to drive engagement, conversions, traffic, and revenue. To achieve this goal, this position will connect all digital initiatives, applications and channels to coordinate and leverage content created by a cross-functional team for social, search and other audience data.
The successful candidate must be team-oriented, highly motivated, digital savvy, a self-starter and organized. This is a full-time, annually appointed position, reporting to the Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement. Candidates should expect to work evenings, weekends and some holidays based on sport competition schedules.

Coordinate the implementation of digital marketing initiatives for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, including, but not limited to the following:
1) Digital Advertising *Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement, execute a digital advertising campaign to represent all sports utilizing tactics including SEO, content marketing, inbound marketing, social media marketing, pay-per-click, marketing automation and email marketing. *Assist Director of Marketing’s efforts to develop appealing and effective advertising content for the purpose of generating clicks with intent to purchase. *Maximize revenue opportunities through digital and social media platforms including, but not limited to, media, internet, web, digital, app, mobile phone, social media *Monitor digital advertising trends and tools and execute on our platforms *Assist Director of Marketing to establish reporting and analytics mechanisms to evaluate all digital advertising, to tracing and connecting sales back to a customer’s first digital touchpoint. *Identify trends in the way people research and buy our product, helping to make more informed decisions about what parts of our marketing strategy deserve more attention, and what parts of our sales cycle need refining.
2) E-Mail Marketing *Serve as the primary contact to implement a successful and effective e-mail marketing strategy. *Manage e-mail marketing software system with the purpose of generating revenue through ticket sales and/or donations. *Create e-mail messages designed for specific target audiences, including writing copy (with assistance from Marketing leads) and graphic design for all marketing and ticket sales campaigns. *Develop and maintain an e-mail campaign reporting system to measure success and report results.
3) Social Media *Assist with the development of social media strategy for the department on all platforms with the goal of building fan affinity, increasing engagement, supporting revenue generating initiatives and providing a voice for the Arizona Athletics brand. *Serve as the primary contact for the Arizona Athletics social media accounts, including creating and posting content, monitoring (comments, replies, mentions, etc.), engaging in constructive conversation, providing customer service and promoting the Arizona Athletics’ brand. Collaborate with Associate AD for Strategic Communications on general department news, promotion and advancing the mission of ICA. *Assist Director of Marketing to establish reporting and analytics mechanisms to be used to direct the strategy and implementation of ICA’s social strategy. *Develop and maintain a social media content calendar in coordination with the Director of Marketing and the Associate AD for Strategic Communications. *Work with Creative Services team to develop engaging content (GIFs, graphics, video, etc.). *Provide expertise, leadership and guidance to others in the department to help maximize the effectiveness of sport-specific accounts. *Responsible to provide leadership and training on industry trends and best practices to Athletics department staff. *Assist with the development of social media standards and policies and monitor to ensure compliance across all accounts. *Train and supervise student interns and delegate social media assignments *On call for all football and men’s basketball gamedays, home and away, to actively participate in and monitor social media activity. *Assist with the development strategy and execution to showcase the gameday experience to entice potential recruits and future ticket buyers.
4) Other *Manage ICA’s inbound marketing efforts which are focused on attracting qualified prospects through relevant and helpful content through channels such as search engines, enter-to-win forms, and social media with the goal of converting them into customers. *Collaborate with CRM manager to develop strategic target audiences for digital communication. *Serve as point person for digital lead generation strategy, including online contests, event marketing, enter-to-win sweepstakes. *Collaborate with Outbound Sales team and CRM manager on system to manage and report on captured leads. *Assist Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement on maintaining marketing-driven landing pages on official department website designed to inform and generate revenue. *Assist Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement on implementation of Game Day App *Serve as the day-to-day contact with 3rd party vendors for digital applications such as mobile ads, management software, etc. *Assist marketing team to manage Google Analytics account and provide reports on digital performance.
