Two years experience in planning large-scale events, marketing, public relations, or experience in a related field. Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties: Coordinates annual career fairs. Markets, advertises, and promotes the Career Services Center's programs and services to students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff. Manages and maintains the events and event registrations through Career Services' web based system. Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only): Markets and promotes Career Services sponsored events and additional co-sponsored events as arranged through collaboration with other campus departments. Manages job fairs and career events to include planning, organizing, marketing, budgeting, and supervising. Coordinates venue, equipment, speaker invitations, event invitations and correspondence material. Orders food and promotional items. Keeps inventory of event supplies. Designs event flyers, brochures, posters, banners, handouts, and other marketing collateral. Creates floor plans and booth assignments. Packs event boxes. Sets-up and manages events. Creates events in Jobs for Kats. Maintains and assists recruiters with employer registrations, billing and payment of registration fees and correspondence. Prepares event surveys for employers and students and compiles statistical data from survey results. Attends campus professional organization meetings. Enters information into database and maintains records and correspondence with efficiency in reference to career events. Develops, maintains and updates Career Services website with target information for students, employers, parents, alumni, and SHSU faculty/staff. Maintains Career Services' social media sites. Develop branded marketing campaigns for new and existing initiatives as needed, including comprehensive marketing plans, logos, and tag lines. Develop metrics and track social media usage. Write, edit, and proofread all copy of Career Services promotions including printed materials and web pages. May hire, train and supervise marketing and public relations intern(s). Performs other related duties as assigned.
