Marketing and Communications Manager

The Foundation for Physical Therapy (FPT), the country’s preeminent nonprofit funding research in physical therapy, seeks a Marketing & Communications Manager. This person will lead marketing and communications for the organization on a leadership team with the Development Director, Scientific Program Manager, and CEO. Candidates should be organized; self-starting; happy in a cooperative nonprofit environment; excellent at multi-tasking; and have a good sense of humor. Candidates must be fluent in English and have strong writing skills.

The marketing and communications leader will:

• Provide leadership and execute strategic marketing and communications priorities to create engagement for the Foundation’s programs within and related to the physical therapy marketplace.
• Target engagement at key audiences to ensure a strong return on effort in terms of increased awareness, engagement, retention as well as new and increased donations.
• Partner with communications and marketing teams at the Foundation’s related organization, the American Physical Therapy Association, to develop opportunities for APTA staff and members to engage with and donate to the Foundation’s work.
• Clarify and strengthen the FPT brand through strong messaging, audience targeting, and effective use of tools and techniques that are brand-relevant and audience-appropriate.
• Supervise the Communications Associate. Work with the Associate to develop and produce promotional and conference materials; digital and print outreach tools and content; and materials to support the marketing communications efforts of the CEO and the Board of Trustees.
• Collaborate with internal teams and develop external partnerships to increase awareness of and support for the organization.
• Measure results of marketing communications efforts and make data-driven decisions about how to invest resources for maximum impact.
• Manages the organization’s digital marketing strategy and execution (website, Twitter, etc.)
